“We purchased our 2,088 square foot Park Hill home in July, 2018. We fell in love with the location, the top of the hill, the views. The house itself seemed to have some New Orleans or low-country vibes – but the 1948 built home did many of those vibes did not work quite right together. When purchasing it, we did so with the thought we could fix it on our own. After living in the house for a year and a half we could not figure out how exactly how to fix it. We decided to sell, but it did not sell. We tried to work with an architect and construction company but they wanted more money than we were willing to spend. We were about to give up, but I remembered visiting an open house in Crestwood where Vandalay Designs had done an incredible job. I gave them a call. They brought in Southside Design+Build and our journey began. From the very start, working with this team was fun, it was collaborative, they listened and they made it work. As we are frequent travelers to Charleston, we love the city’s architecture. Our vision has always been to modify the house mimic low-country living but with a modern twist – well except for that mural of 1828 Charleston harbor. And the results, well we feel the results speak for themselves. ”
